Information we collect
We collect account information you provide, including email address, display name, account type, general home region, experience level, and consent records. When you use product features, we may store fishing plans, general water names, tackle details, catch records, photos, charter profiles, vessels, trip offerings, availability, inquiries, and business contact information.
Our hosting and security providers may automatically process basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, requested pages, and security events needed to deliver and protect the service.
How information is used
We use information to authenticate accounts, personalize fishing plans, store private member records, operate Captain Studio and charter listings, route trip inquiries, send requested service emails, protect the platform, troubleshoot problems, and improve product performance.
Exact or private fishing locations are not published by default. Public sharing requires a deliberate action and may be subject to moderation.
When information is shared
We share information with infrastructure and email-delivery providers only as needed to operate the service. Information submitted in a charter inquiry is shared with the selected charter operator so that operator can respond. Content a member or captain intentionally publishes may be visible publicly.
We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect people or the service, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention and security
Account and product records are retained while an account is active and as reasonably needed for operations, security, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. One-time sign-in codes expire quickly and are stored only as cryptographic hashes. Session tokens are protected in secure, HTTP-only cookies.
No online system can guarantee absolute security. Reel Fishing Society uses practical safeguards and limits access according to product roles.
Your choices and requests
You may update profile information, download an account-data copy, control active sessions, or start a deletion request from Account Settings. You may also contact us using the method below. Some records may be retained where reasonably necessary or legally required.
Browser “Do Not Track” signals do not have a single accepted standard. Reel Fishing Society does not currently use third-party behavioral-advertising trackers. If tracking practices materially change, this notice will be updated before those practices are introduced.
Children and changes
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We may update this notice as the product changes. Material changes will be identified by a revised effective date and, when appropriate, an account notice.
